Joyeux Noël à tout le monde ! I hope everyone is spending a warm & cosy Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with their loved ones. As previously promised, here is a full shot of our family Christmas tree in Vancouver. (More detailed shots below.) It is an eclectic, joyful Christmas tree full of life and happy memories. It takes us a full day to put it up and decorate it every year. As of 2012, it calls itself home to the following little pieces of light:
- Two sets of string lights (one gold, one with different colours)
- Gold bead garlands
- Silk & glass baubles from various family trips around the world
- Wooden ornaments from Canada
- Golden and red velvet poinsettias
- Little toys and trinkets that my siblings and I made when we were younger
- Baby Christmas mittens from our childhoods
- Miniature velvet Christmas stockings
- Hand-picked and hand-painted pine cones from one of the forests nearby
- Real candy canes
- Glittery red snowflakes
- ... and more!
It is definitely a very full Christmas tree, but I love how it is eccentric just like my family and our mixed backgrounds & stories. I can't wait to build my own family Christmas tree when I settle down and have children in the future; I think it would be such a lovely, long-term project. Anyhow, that is all for now! Once again, ¡Feliz Navidad! to everyone! I hope 2012 has been both naughty and nice for you. ;-P
Lots of love xx

ReplyDeleteMerry Noël & joyeux navidad! Love that arbre de Noël, so cozy and warm!
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup !! We're just in the middle of preparing Christmas dinner - so exciting!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Looks nothing like our Christmas trees growing up, which were always covered with completely mismatched ornaments we made in school or picked up through the years. Topped off with a worse for wear angel which I think was made out of a toilet roll and a styrofoam ball ha ha. But made by my grandmother who passed away when I was 6, so like your tree, full of special memories!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Love the styrofoam angel idea - sometimes it's the best thing you can have when you've got 4 little kids running around destroying everything in the house. (As was the case at Casa Milsters. :-D) En tout cas, j'espère que tu passes un merveilleux Noël demain !
ReplyDeletelovely tree, thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteMerry merry Christmas! It's pictures like these that make me wish we had a tree too. Perhaps when we move out of our tiny NYC apartment?
ReplyDeleteAww. I understand your struggle with space - I have it in Paris also. Can you fit a tiny Christmas tree at home? Sometimes it's best to start small to have something that will fit our lives at that moment!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures ;)
