I spent the latter half of yesterday afternoon indoors, curled up on the couch with a book, a cup of tea, and some sweet treats. (Yes, I know ... it's Pastry Week at Chez Milsters.) The tea I was having is from my favourite maison de thé in Paris, Dammann Frères, which I have raved about before. I was very surprised to stumble upon it in my local Marché Franprix as I was doing the afternoon shop, and decided to treat myself to a box of Jardin Bleu (one of my favourite parfums!) for this cold & grey weather.
The macarons of the day came from De Neuville, which I picked up at the store on Rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Ile after pacing up and down the street lustfully looking for my pastry fix on my way home! It's the first time I've tried De Neuville's sweets, and I must say, they are solid. I judge all macaron houses by their ability to do the classic pistache, and De Neuville did it justice.
beautiful pics! <3 macarons!

Arrrrgh you make me crave macarons on an almost daily basis! I must learn how to make them!
ReplyDeleteI'm coming round to yours for afternoon tea, that looks so serene and yummy!
ReplyDeleteOooooh if you learn to make them, *I'm* coming over!
ReplyDeleteAww if you are ever in Paris, I'd love to go for afternoon tea with you or have you over for afternoon too (once I have a place, that is - LOL).
ReplyDeleteThe macarons look yummy! It was really "tendance" when I went back to France this year, all the shops had some fancy ones.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a delicious, sweet way to spend a Sunday afternoon! :)
ReplyDeleteWow - it looks like a perfect day! The best part of LIVING in Paris is that you can have days like that - you have every day to explore. You are SO lucky!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a relaxing and quite yummy way to spend a Saturday afternoon at home. It's nice to know different brand of teas and those Macarons look delicious.

ReplyDeleteThose macarons look terribly awesome. Other than pistachio, what other flavours did you get?

ReplyDeleteAww thanks Sandy. It's not always like this, I assure you, but there are some good sides to living here, and these macarons are one of them

ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for visiting my blog :) Macarons and a good book do make for a good afternoon on the couch :)
ReplyDeleteHello. Thank you for visiting my blog! I just checked yours out and loved it! The blog title is super witty also :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteCan you describe for us what Jardin Bleu smells like? Very curious! Thanks.
Ah Jardin Bleu is so lovely! It's made up of non-smoked teas from China and Ceylan, with petals of sunflower and cornflower and the aromas of rhubarb and strawberry. It's a lovely light tea that I find works well with nutty macaron flavours.
