As part of my informal series on little treasures that I discover in my new neighbourhood - welcome to the wonderful Autour du Saumon, a high-end traiteur specialising in smoked salmons and other fish, seafood, caviars, vodkas, blinis, and all of the sauces, spices, and oils to accompany them all. They have five boutiques in Paris (two of which have adjoining restaurants), and the one that I visited was at rue François Miron just behind métro St-Paul.
Raphael tells me that they sell some of the best vodka he's found in Paris, and the range of caviar looked amazing. Alas we walked out with neither vodka nor caviar - but we did have some incredibly delicious smoked salmon and herring in tow! Easily the most expensive smoked fish that I've bought in Paris, but from time to time, life calls for a little indulgence. :) I'll save up for the caviar and vodka for next time!
