Today is my last day in warm & sunny Barcelona and alas I shall head back to cold & grey Paris this afternoon. Though I suppose there are worse things in life than heading back to Paris! Everyone was walking around in t-shirts and dresses yesterday, but my sister and I decided tuck into a café on Passeig del Born to get some chocolate y churros whilst it's still officially winter. This cup of delicious, thick chocolate caliente is from Farggi Café, a café & gelatería chain in Barcelona that serves up pretty good chocolate. As you know, I'm always on the look-out for great chocolat chaud wherever I go, and can't wait to come back to Barcelona in February to hunt for the best chocolate y churros in town. In the meantime, if you're a chocoholic yourself, don't miss out on this month's blog giveaway!
For now, bye bye, Barcelona, and I hope I see you (and my sister!) in February. ♥

Seems so delicious ! Perfect time <3

Coline.
Thank you! Yes, it's (clearly) one of my favourite things to do in the winter. Perfect time :)
ReplyDeleteMouthwatering! I was just in Barcelona over the summer, it's such a special city – I'm jealous you are going back :)
ReplyDeleteIt is such an awesome city! I think if I weren't living in Paris and could choose where else to live in Europe, it would be Barcelona, hands down.
ReplyDeleteI used to say Barcelona is like Paris... with more sun and a beach. Who would not want to move there at least for a couple of years? One of the best cities in Europe. Very envious of your Churros dégustation, lucky girl! (I survived on Churros and Agua de Limon as a kid during my family's summer vacation on the Spanish Costa Brava :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteI am drooling right now. Last time I had chocolate and churros (well, churros covered with chocolate) was in London, in Camden Market, last summer. Oh well, there are always beavertails in Ottawa!
ReplyDeleteYummy. I think that Barcelona is one of my favorite cities to eat in of all time!
ReplyDeleteOoooh family vacation on the Costa Brava! Lucky girl! :) Would love to do that this summer
ReplyDeleteThere's amazing nature in Canada! I have yet to visit 90% of the country and am hoping to do a cross-Canada tour for the first time this August with Raphael.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that looks rather yummy!
ReplyDeleteOoh, it looks seriously looks delicious! My stomach is grumbling!
ReplyDeleteThe secret to elegance is to start from the top and work your way down.
Amazing! I'm hoping to head to Barcelona in a few weeks also, will let you know if I spot and . good looking chocolat chaud's. Im in desperate need of some vitamin D that these grey Parisian skys just cant give me!

That is definitely a very lovely way to eat the churro :)
ReplyDeleteAh thank you! Please do let me know if you find any :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks seriously delicious! We actually went to that place in Buenos Aires but I think it might not be what it used to be, it's rather run-down now. I keep forgetting to enter your giveaway - will get on it when I get home!
ReplyDeleteHad a lot of churros last year when we were in Spain. Just loved them.
ReplyDeleteJust letting you know willsheloveparis had just been hit by extreme case of euphoria after seeing this post! If I can't sleep tonight, it will be all le churros' fault! xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteWAY worse things than heading back to Paris :) but easy for me to say... harder when that's just life, I know! have a safe trip x
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm sorry to hear that! I can see how it would be quite run-down by now. Did you try the chocolate y churros in any case? Especially the churros stuffed with dulce de leche? What did you think?
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed super yummy! One of my favourite things to eat in Spain
ReplyDeleteLOL awww that is really sweet! I'm sure we could find them somewhere in Paris, you know :)
ReplyDeleteVery true! Sometimes I need to remind myself how lucky I am and that this is not necessarily "just life". (Alas it isn't always like this for me, I still need to make my bread & butter - LOL.) Hope all is well with you.
ReplyDeleteWe did! The churros were a bit stale, but the hot chocolate was pretty good! There's a churreria right by my house in Patagonia, though, so we got our fill. :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I'm going to do a post soon on my favourite restaurants in Barcelona :)
ReplyDeleteYes it was super yummy indeed! I think I'm going to need to start doing some serious exercise. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the best chocolate & churros in BCN (that I had at least) are at Dulcinea in the Barrio Gotico... the only problem is that they seem to have random hours with a very long break for siesta so often I would try to go and they were closed!
ReplyDeleteBut I think the correct hours (and reviews etc) are listed here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/dulcinea-barcelona
And one of the nicest things about Barcelona is when you can already be planning your next trip there as soon as you get back... :)
Thanks so much for the tip, Kat! I will definitely add that to my list for the next time I go there. :)
