This weekend, a snowstorm swept across much of northern Europe, blanketing cities spanning from London to Moscow with a velvety white. It turned Paris into a winter playground, with kids running around throwing snowballs at one another, dogs leaving half-foot-deep pawprints, and lovers rushing from the warmth of one icicle-covered café to another. In the 3 years I've lived in Paris (and the 5 years I've been visiting from London every winter), I have never seen this much snow in the city. It was truly magical and made me love Paris in January even more.

I still can't believe it's totally missed us in Glasgow! Looks lovely on Paris though :o)
ReplyDeleteI bet you are enjoying your cozy Le Marais apartment when you return home after staying outside in all that snow! Are you almost unpacked by now? Can't wait to see more pics of your "chez vous..." Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty with a little white magic! Enjoy the snow - hopefully it doesn't become ugly grey mush in a few days!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty photo :) And it's really been so gorgeous during these days!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty... we have the same kind of foggy snowiness here too :)
ReplyDeletealways love europe with snow - so pretty!!

Wow! I am really surprised to hear that. So no snow at all in Glasgow?! We were covered with 11cm of snow over here - a record since 1987!
ReplyDeleteI am indeed enjoying it - but alas on an air mattress! I'm still waiting for the delivery of my bed and a few pieces of furniture. I think it's going to take at least half this year to get all the furnishings I want to turn it into the cosy space I'm envisioning. Not only because of time, but because furniture is so expensive! I never realised until I started shopping non-Ikea this year...
ReplyDeleteAlas it did become grey & mushy rather quickly! But no matter, it rained the day afterwards and there were no traces of Snow Day left!
ReplyDeleteLOL yes, all the way from Canada, it seems! Although it only lasted 2 days over here. Nothing compared to a true Canadian winter. :)
ReplyDeleteI know! It was record snowfall! 11cm - the most since 1987. It's definitely the most I've ever seen during my 8 last winters in Paris.
ReplyDeleteSo amazing! <3

It really was magical, wasn't it? Don't tell anyone, but I want it to snow again. : ) It was way too pretty to just see it once this winter! Bon week-end, ma belle!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
ReplyDeleteOoooooohhhhhh you just uttered the forbidden words "snow again". LOL But I agree - I want it to snow again too! I missed out on all the fun because I was moving that weekend. So I'm also secretly hoping for a replay so I can wander around and marvel at the city properly.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is wonderful. Ahh I know Paris was such a dream when it was snowing.
