Today was my first real day walking around my new neighbourhood, even if it was only to go to Monoprix and back. Alas, I have not been talking many photos of Paris during this past week as I've mainly been staying under the covers. I did that a lot also today, but even a sick girl has got to do her weekly shop. :)
On my way to Monoprix at St-Paul, I passed by the well-known (and dangerously tempting!) shopping street of Rue des Francs-Bourgeois as well as a few famous cafés on Rue de Turenne. On my way back, I decided to take my favourite route in the Marais, which surprisingly not so many people know of. It's the passageway off Rue Saint-Antoine (the continuation of Rue de Rivoli) that goes through the gorgeous Hôtel de Sully and opens up to a beautiful forgotten fairytale courtyard. A small door on the other side lets you emerge directly onto Place des Vosges. And since I now live just a few paces away from Place des Vosges, I think I will be taking this passageway more and more often!
