I woke up at 6am this morning and spent the entire day running around the city non-stop. Between errands, doctor's appointments, and several apartment visits, I somehow managed to get in about 3 hours of work. After my last appointment and a very long day, I decided to stop by Hugo & Victor on Boulevard Raspail and pick up these macarons as a treat. Alas, they didn't have pistache tonight (my favourite macaron flavour!), so instead I tried their thé earl grey / chocolat, which was absolutely divine! It's small gems like this that make a long, difficult day melt away...

Oh how awful having to have these for afternoon tea, I'm so sorry... ;o)
ReplyDeleteAh! I actually didn't have tea with me! But VERY good idea for next time :) I know. I'm spoiling myself rotten just because it's grey & cold outside and I don't have an apartment yet. LMAO
ReplyDeleteAhh, Hugo & Victor! My favourites :) I really need to go there soon, I haven't been there since I returned. It's good to hear that someone else is burying there face in pastries as well because of the weather and apartment problems ;)

LOL! I was starting to wonder today whether by the end of next week, I would still be homeless, just chubbier!
ReplyDeleteMmm, macarons most definitely help. I think another lunch date is in order, too. Looking forward to meeting you! :)
ReplyDeleteYummy, pistache is my favourite flavour too along with Orange Blossom at Laduree. But I would love to try the Earl Grey. It must really taste divine!

ReplyDeleteMe too!! Can't wait til Tuesday :) And I haven't seen Edna in ages neither so am really looking forward to that also!
ReplyDeleteOooh I love the orange blossom at Ladurée as well, but I never think to get it! I'm always reaching for the pistache :)
ReplyDeleteI was just researching where I could find alfajores in Paris! I think I find the place - it's an Argentinian épicérie in St-Germain:

Coline !
You post all this delicious food and then I eat rice and beans for lunch... again. Maybe I should go to Paris...
ReplyDeleteAwww. If it helps at all, all I've had this morning for breakfast is cheese & baguette.
ReplyDeleteMhh they look delicious. Definitely will try Hugo & Victor when I'm in Paris next time.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I swear I just laughed out load in my quiet apartment :D
ReplyDeleteIsn't that Lindt's business partner? Lindt stuff always say "Lindt and Sprüngli" on it.
ReplyDeleteProbably the best cheese and baguette ever. :P
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth a try! They are in my top 3 favourite macaron houses in Paris.
