Beauty in the Mundane

One of the things I love most about Paris is how beautiful the most mundane things are.  Like this métro sign at Saint-Paul, which I pass by often when I do my groceries in the neighbourhood.  It's exquisite, and yet simply a part of the background of everyday life.

It's wonderful that you still take the time to slow down and notice the details. So many people take a city like Paris for granted and get caught up in the daily grind (I was one of them once.) Then one day you leave and move... wherever... and realize what you had, and could have enjoyed even more. Good for you. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  4. Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I think I might have done that myself when I was living in New York. I think we learn as we get older to appreciate the little things. Don't be too hard on yourself; everything is a learning experience.
