As this post goes live, I am going to be undergoing a minor surgery at Clinique de Saint Jean de Dieu. Fingers crossed that everything goes well, but I shall be taking a few days off to recover in any case! For now, I wanted to leave you with some photos of hidden courtyards either behind enormous closed doors or off unoccupied side streets that I keep stumbling on as I explore my new neighbourhood in the Marais. It's lovely to continue to discover a city that I've already lived in for almost 3 years. I suppose that in many ways exploration of cities, like exploration of people and selves, never have a definitive ending. There is always something new to uncover, something new to consider, something new to either love or leave behind.

Beautiful photos. I hope I can visit your country some day. All I have planned so far is to take a nap in the gardens of Versailles.

Thank you, Mandy! I am back at home now after a day in the hospital and just resting. I think the nap in the jardins de Versailles sounds like a wonderful plan!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Winter Sundays! I should be up on my feet and at a 100% in 8 days - fingers crossed. :)
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup, Juliette !
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad you liked it :)
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Overall it went well, even with the minor complication it had. Looks like the recovery period is more like 8 days rather than 4 which is what we originally thought, but I'm glad that everything went well in general!
ReplyDeleteHope surgery went well my dear! Here's to a speedy recovery
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think the worst part about the recovery is that I can't eat anything aside from soup, mashed potatoes and ice cream for the next 7 days... Sooooo painful for me!
ReplyDeleteWisdom teeth surgery? Yoghurt, ice cream, whipped potatoes, pea soup, oatmeal and good ol' rice congee will save you. Give yourself a week to recover, then you can have soft bread soaked in milk, with a bit of jam. I went back to eating solid food after almost two weeks (but then again, I was stubborn and could handle the pain).
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling all better very soon!
